Capitol Arts Youth Theatre presents:
THE JUNGLE BOOK
In our own adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic, the audience will follow Mowgli, a man's cub, as he is raised by a family of wolves to obey the Laws of the Jungle. The simple and pure life that they lead gets interrupted by meddling monkeys, sneaky snakes, and a tiger out for revenge. Guided by his jungle family, he must venture to the world of men and in order to save their way of life. Done in a percussion based style similar to the Russian Classic Peter and the Wolf, each character or grouping will be represented by a different rhythmic sound. The pounding of the drums, the howling of the wolves and the call of the jungle will lead us on our journey with Mowgli and the rest of the fascinating characters to be found in the depths of The Jungle Book.
