CAYT PRODUCTIONS & AUDITIONS
CAYT produces Mainstage plays & musicals (full-length shows with full technical support) and Studio plays (one-act shows with minimal technical support).

Auditions are always open for anyone interested (except our annual CAYT All-Stars production open only to that year’s All-Stars). Auditioners generally have to pick up an audition packet to prepare and register in advance for an audition time-slot. Age eligibility varies for each production according to its content. Prior experience/training is not required, but helps to earn a leading role. Audition packets are generally ready one month prior to audition dates.

Many of our Mainstage productions have School Day Performances to supplement arts education for local schools. Cast/Crew members are excused from school to participate in these productions.

Rehearsals for productions usually run 3 or 4 times per week (weekdays between 4:30pm-8:00pm and Saturdays between 10:00am-5:00pm). Summer rehearsals usually run Monday-Friday for five hours each day witha sack-lunch break. Not all performers are required to be at every rehearsal and CAYT tries to work around rehearsal conflicts, but the more available you are to rehearse the better chances you have of being cast in a leading role. All performers are required to attend all technical & dress rehearsals and all performances to participate.
